First of all, this is my first HD LCD TV. I've done research for the last year trying to find the right TV for the right price.
After looking at Sony, Samsung, Sharp LCD's and the Samsung LED DLP, I stumbled upon the Philips 2PFL7422D on the web. After doing some research on this TV I found that it had all the pro's of the other big name brands but with out any of the con's, such as banding(Sharp) or clouding(Sony)(Note, this information was gathered from other reviews, I had not seen either of these phenomenon's my self).
I'm very happy with this TV. One thing I really like it the screen isn't shiny like Samsung's high end models I was also interested in. My TV is in a very bright location with lot of windows and a shiny screen was a really turn off even though the Samsung's LCD's review very well.
Some things to be aware of is the refresh is 60hMz (120hMz is the current high mark) and the HDMI is 1.0, not 1.3. Also the remote feels cheap but is easy to use.
I'm not a audio/video buff by any means, but I do understand the tech. I have a Xbox 360 and Wii hooked up, both through component cable, and they work great. I played Guitar hero 2 and didn't notice any delay between picture and sound. I also connected it to Comcast Digital and the HD looks great. Watched football this weekend and didn't notice any blur.
If your looking for high quality at a great value, check this TV out.

Buyer beware!!! Make sure you want this item absolutely and positively before you order. You will have to pay return shipping and a restocking fee. Also, the bottom shelf is just two slats with a space in the middle. Not worth the price being charged.

This television has great image quality. The only limiting factor seems to be the quality of broadcast images. I didn't check all the specs and expected the connections to be similar to the LG70 series (as the LG60 series cost more)-wrong. It lacks S-video altogether and a standard video connection on the back. With my old Tivo, the only usable connection is the standard video on the side, and that has to be removed to connect anything else, such as the camcorder. I have had this television for two weeks. I got it after being greatly disappointed with a Vizio 37 inch 1080p. The difference between the two was very noticeable. The picture and sound are far superior. Even when comparing to the 720p LG 37 inch, this one is much better. The television was very easy to set up. The amount of HDMI, component and AV inputs are more than adequate for any standard home theater set up. I read one review that gave this television low marks for not having a headphone jack. I feel that if you are going to get a television of this caliber, you will get a good receiver that supports headphones. I feel that is an unimportant option and I prefer having that fourth HDMI port. The energy saving option is a nice addition, although if you get a lot of sun, you need to keep that setting low during the day. All menu options are easy to navigate. I love that the television knows what types of connections you have. When scrolling through inputs, it highlights the inputs that have devices connected. Overall, this is a great TV and I highly recommend it.

Vanguard VM-841C Column Type Television and Monitor Mount (Black) Review

Vanguard VM-841C Column Type Television and Monitor Mount (Black)
Average Reviews:

First off I want to say that I do like this product. For the price and what it does, it's great. I can adjust the height of my monitor, tilt it, swivel it, everything. The one downside is that it only has one arm that comes out, whereas other similar products have two or more that can adjust how far the monitor comes out toward the viewer. This one slight problem is something that can be a nuisance depending on where you want your monitor in reference to your workspace, as if you want it centered, but you don't want the monitor to come out the full distance it can, you'll have to make sure the base of the monitor arm is off-center in relation to the center of the monitor screen. So to have a perfect monitor position, you can't guess at where to put the monitor arm's base as where the base is dictates where the monitor screen will be.

OmniMount Power40 Articulating Motorized Wall Mount for 23" to 46" Displays (Black) Review

OmniMount Power40 Articulating Motorized Wall Mount for 23 to 46 Displays (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought this product to mount a 40" Samsung LED TV. The mount was easy to install and set-up. The trickiest part of the install is hiding the wires (for TV and mount motor) for a professional look. I chose to run my wiring into the wall behind the TV for a clean look. Take time and plan this part before cutting into your wall! When the mount is not extended, it rests very close to the wall for an extremely low profile look. This works especially well for thin LED TVs or rooms with limited space. The mount swivels into 3 programmable positions allowing the TV to have multiple watching positions. I can swivel the TV so that I can watch it from the recliner, hit the remote, and continue watching TV while grilling on the patio! I absolutely recommend this product to anyone with a room where you want the flexibility to watch TV from different positions and the ability to very easily change positions with the touch of a button.

I've had great experience with LG products - so my purchase of a 47" Full HD set from LG seemed logical.
The picture on my 47LG50 is terrific! Setup out of the box was very intuitive, although I would recommend that the set's picture be set to "standard" instead of "vivid" (torch mode is set by default).
Even when powered off, this set is beautiful. Its piano black case frames the 47" screen very well, although it is more susceptible to fingerprints.
The set offers three HDMI 1.3 inputs and more connection options than one would normally need.
I couldn't give this set a stronger recommendation!

If you've needed a basic mount for a lightweight device and shopped around, I'm sure you've discovered that it's hard to find any basic mount in brick and morter stores (even Wal-Mart) for less than $80. Here, for under $10, is a sturdy mount that will meet your needs. It's a well made device (appears to be heavy gauge steel) with a solid black finish. It's supplied with all the hardware you'll need, lag bolts, plastic anchors, and even the metric screws for the device you're mounting. I didn't use the directions to assemble it because it was so self evident to me, so I can't speak to the quality of the directions. The knob that adjusts the tilt angle is in a tight spot, but it is something that you will probably only need to tighten down once. If you need a mount that you will constantly be repositioning then this is not the mount for you, but if you just want to mount the device and leave it alone this will work fine.

Vanguard VM-842C Column Type Television and Monitor Mount (Black) Review

Vanguard VM-842C Column Type Television and Monitor Mount (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this desk mount for the 19" LCD monitor I just bought. I did my research on desk mounts and I'm pleased with my choice.
It is solid metal, well made, every joint is adjustable..side to side and up and down. At the lowest point it holds the bottom of my monitor 1 1/2" above the desk top. I'm short, so I wanted something to let the screen sit low. I also wear bifocal glasses.. so having a lower screen means not having to kink my neck back to see through the bifocal part of my glasses.
Vanguard includes 4 sets of different sized screws to attach the Vesa mount to the monitor. I had no problems figuring out which size screws to use for my monitor.
The arms have plates to run the cords in the bottom of the arms and hold them secure. No plastic clip ons, although they provide a few plastic cinch ties, of which I didn't need. You'll need a very small phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the plates and reattach them. A "glasses" screw driver will work very nicely. I suggest mounting the cords in the arm, before attaching the mount to your monitor/TV.. those tiny screws could fall inside the Monitor.
The mounting head swivels up and down, while the joint just behind the mount swivels side to side. All the joints allow you to swing your monitor out of the way and adjust it further back or closer with nice tight joints. Once it's in place, it stays there, until you move it. No vibration from typing either! It's solid. There is also a screw on the mount to adjust the tilt of your monitor. Untighten to adjust, retighten to keep it snug.
It comes with a second mounting screw to place through your desktop, but the hand tightening over-the-edge clamp is big enough to be as secure as you'd want it. If you were mounting a heavier monitor or TV, you would probably need the extra secure screw hole on the top of the base that would screw into the top surface of your desk.
All in all, it's an excellent product and worth the price.

I selected this specific television because of the integrated Netflix player. Set up took literally minutes and everything worked great until I tried to activate the built in Netflix player. I was not able to get an activation code from netflix because, although the tv could hit my home network and the internet, the player was unable to log into the Netflix activation server. I first called Netflix and was transfered to LG customer support, who were more interested in getting my phone number than working through the issue. We fumbled through a couple of things becore they informed me that they would need to send out a service tech and I would have to be available for 4 hours on a Tuesday for them to show up. Not finding this acceptable, I reached out to Netflix again. This time I got someone on the level 2 helpdesk who worked with me for about an hour on network things. Basically we determined that there was nothing wrong with my network, but that the problem resided in the television. He was willing to sit on the phone another hour with me while we brought up the LG tech on what had been done. After he walked through several remedial steps that didn't really have anything to do with the situation, the LG tech gave up and tried to schedule another on site visit. I insisted on talking to a supervisor who informed me that there was no Level 2 help desk for LG. After I pressed hard enough, she put me on hold and called someone she knew in Advanced techncal support (aparently an internal departmement). I got a promise for some to call me back. Everyone I had talked to was extremely friendly and told me over and over they wanted to help, but their depth of knowledge on this product was very weak.
After spending an hour with the advanced technical guys, they finally conceeded that they had never actaully set up a Netflix connection, but had seen one working. They also told me that there are known issues with Belkin routers (of course, that is the router I use.) I now have no less than 6 hours invested in getting Netflix to work on this tv and it still doesn't. I will now have to wait for a field tech to come out, do exactly the same things I've done over the last 6 hours and then inform me that I'll need a new board or something, but it'll have to be ordered. I should note that the other web applications integrated into the television work great, it's a shame I didn't buy the TV for them.
I already have a Roku Netflix player (it's even wireless) and I get great results on my Toshiba plasma TV. I should have just bought the tv I really wanted and went with a second Roku device for the new television.
UPDATE - After working with an authorized repair company, the main mother board was replaced and all issues with NETFLIX connectivity were resolved. I am still using the Belkin router and it works like a charm. There were some issues also with the speakers (they crackled at certain frequencies) but once they were replaced, everything seems to be working well.

As a hobby, I run a small Home Theater installation business and have extensive experience with wall-mounts of all types and brands.
I recently purchased this wall-mount for myself. I was so happy with it, I have already put in a second order. I will likely continue to order this product anytime I have a need for a cantilever mount for a TV 42"-50."
Here are the features I really like about it and a couple things I would like to change about it.
Good:
-The PRICE - excellent value. Can't beat this item for the money.
-Mounting bracket extends between two studs for secure mounting
-Mounting bracket has multiple mounting locations to allow for varying stud distances
-Dual-arm design makes for a very secure hold at the chosen viewing position (though this does affect it's overall flexibility)
-The "hook-on" style end-bracket allows for great flexibility in centering the TV with the wall, rather than the mount (great when wall studs aren't exactly on center)
-"built-in" wire covers on the arms
Would change:
-The screws that come with the bracket are not heavy-duty (I used different screws)
-Dual-arm design limits the overall flexibility of the mount. A one-arm design is probably better if the TV will change viewing positions often or be used at extreme angles.
-Holes in mounting bracket are small and not convenient for running wires (especially if there is an outlet to account for).
-Tilt cannot be "locked" into place - only tightened. This means that you can mess up the tilt when trying to move the TV from position to position. (On the other hand, it makes for easy tilt adjustments).
For my purposes, this wall-mount was perfect. For the price, it was unbelievable. I highly recommend it, despite its few minor flaws.

LG 37LG60 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Piano Black with Scarlet Red Review

LG 37LG60 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Piano Black with Scarlet Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned the 37LG60 for about 6 weeks now and I am very impressed.
Setup: Out of the box, everything went fairly well and the packaging was good. The directions for attaching the stand are a bit lacking in that there are two different sizes of screws provided and it is up to the user to figure out which ones fit in which holes. The menus for A/V setup are clear and concise for basic set up and there are a plethora of advanced options for those that want to dive in.
Video: The picture is excellent. At the time I'm writing this, there is only one 37" consumer LCD HDTV that supports both 1080p resolutions and 120hz refresh rates. Visually any HD content played on the set is stunning, and even standard definition looks fine for almost everything. Much better than some less expensive sets that I looked at. There are almost never any visible jagged lines on SD content. The color and contrast were a bit off out of the box but that is normal with HD sets and 2 minutes of adjusting fixed it. I didn't even have time to run a calibration DVD or Blu-Ray yet and I'm already very happy. Just a note for those that are planning on purchasing a 1080p TV; at 37", in order to take full advantage of 1080p (be able to see the difference between 720 and 1080) you need to be sitting about 4 feet from the TV. With smaller sets, the difference is less noticeable. If you are looking to save money, getting a 720p TV would not be a bad idea. That being said, I love the way the 37LG60 looks and would recommend it on picture quality alone.
Inputs: The good news is there are tons of inputs. 4 HDMI, 2 Composite, a VGA for use as a computer monitor and more. The bad news is that I use a Panasonic Blu-Ray player and a TiVo HD with the system, both plugged into HDMI ports and most of the time when pausing or fast forwarding/rewinding content from either player, I get a high pitched clicking/static type of noise coming from the speakers. It is very faint, but I can still hear it. Since this is my first HDTV, I wasn't sure if that was a common problem, but after asking around, found nobody else that had ever heard of such a thing. I contacted LG online support and was told, "I am sorry, I have found out that can sometimes happen with digital but unfortunately there are not any adjustments that can be made for that issue." I'm going to try the Composite inputs to see if the problem exists there as well. It is not loud enough to make me return the set, but this is the issue that keeps me from rating a full 5 Stars.
Sound: The only other place where this TV is lacking is the built in speakers, which work fine for day to day use, but if you want to fully enjoy a movie experience, you will want to buy a sound system to replace the onboard speakers.
Visual appeal: The set itself is sturdy and attractive. The "scarlet" back is beautiful and the edges can be seen from almost any angle. The gloss black front and mirror finish base give it a classy look. I prefer matte finishes on TV's, which eliminate glare from other light sources, but this is easily overlooked, as the set is gorgeous.
Support: LG's online support was prompt and friendly but not entirely helpful in dealing with the clicking/static noise I am experiencing.
Overall, I'm giving the set 4 stars and keeping it in my house. I will edit my review once I've had a chance to try Composite cables.

LG 52LG70 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV Review

LG 52LG70 52-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this tv to replace my Samsung Plasma (PN50A550) which I also reviewed.
Having 4 other Samsung TVs I was reluctant to try another brand. Especially a brand that did not start with an S (Samsung, Sony, Sharp).
So things to know before diving into my review.
"Stated" contrast ratios are as is. Meaning stated. there is no standard! Keep that in mind when you read specs. LG's 15,000:1 IS better than Samsungs 1,000,000:1. Yes you read that right.
With no standards established for contrast ratios the only way to determine this is to see it in person. Sorry but it is what it is. Thats why you can say that a Sony's Image is better than a comparable spec'd Sceptre's. Its all in the image itself NOT the specs.
I am a Samsung fanboy, even with the failure of my last Samsung TV. So this is as fair and impartial as it will get on a Non-Samsung product - feel free to read my other reviews.
The Review:
I went to a local Video Only and compared the Samsung LN52A650, LN52A630, Panasonic th-50pz800u. I really didn't bother looking at the LG until I realized it was wedged between the other aformetioned tvs. By far it had the sharpest images of all and its contracst ratio was better than that of all the Samsungs. The reds were richer and the blacks were blacker. Comparing to the higher end Panasonic Plasma the blacks weren't as black as the plasma (well I'm comparing an LCD to plasma) but it was pretty darn close and the image was still much sharper on the LG.
So I inquired and found the LG to be hundreds of dollars less than the Samsungs and the Panasonic. Yes Hundreds less. In fact I was able to score my 52LG70 for $1500. But even at $1800 as Amazon has -its definitely worth it. Compare this price to other 52" LCD's with 120hz processors - none come close.
Positives:
Sharp Image -By far the sharpest image of Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic. (see pics)
4 HDMI inputs -yeah it may be overkill now, but in the future you may need some etra HDMI ports (PS3, Xbox360, what else?)
Contrast ratio -Definitely comparable to Plasmas. Thats saying something as LCD's have never really competed with Plasma Blacks. This one comes close to the best (Pioneer and Panasonic) with respect to black levels. (see pics)
Anti-glare screen -Finally a true anti-glare screen. This bad boy has a matte screen. Meaning you could have your blinds open on a bright sunny day and stil enjoy the picture. (see pics)
Picture settings -7 fully customizeable settings allow for the most astute image expert/calibrator.
120Hz (with tru-motion) -This can take a bit of time to get used to, but once you adjust to it you really love it.
Sound -Even if you don't plan on using the units invisible speakers. You should know they were tuned by Mark Levinson (the guy who does the premium Lexus sound systems). By far way better than Samsungs.
52" -I compare this to the 50" plasmas due to the price range. The extra 2 inches definitely makes a HUGE difference.
Negatives:
120hz (with tru-motion on) -Yeah I said it was a positive, but some people never get used to it so I wanted to voice that. You can turn it off if you don't like it. They also allow you to demo it meaning you can see half the screen with it on and the other half off.
Remote- Not intuitive and somewhat difficult to navigate. Put it this way. The wife needs my help to change settings. So if you want an intuitive remote get a Universal one such as the Logitech Harmony 880.
Inputs and controls -The inputs and controls are in the back of the unit so you have to reach around if you want to change channels or volume without the remote. They do claim a set on the side - which is partially correct.
Lack of PIP -All my other Samsungs had it. So its hard to believe LG skimped on that feature. not a biggie as I never used it, but its nice to have.
Artifacts -Occasionally on non-hd material I see artifacts, which I never saw on my plasmas. What can I say I'm still in love with plasma but the few times I see artifacts I am able to let it go. This does happen occasionally in LCD's. (Don't Panic)
Bottom Line - Awesome TV which had me cheat on Samsung in no time.
This Samsung fanboy is definitely seeing the Light. Life is Good! =)
Really a 4.5 star review but there is no 4.5 stars and I would be remiss to call this a 4 star.
I'd take this tv over a Samsung LN52A650 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

There's not a tremendous amount to say about a wall mount. I didn't pay a lot for this mount, but I was very pleased with it. It came with some big wallboard-mount screws and anchors. They look good, but I didn't use them, so I don't know how well they work. I was mounting onto a 2x4 and used lag screws instead.
The total travel length of this mount is not huge (15" or so?), but it was great for the application I had. It operates smoothly. There's a little bit of rotational play in the TV, but it seems to hold whatever position it's tilted to.
I wasn't sure my project was really going to work out, so I didn't want to spend a lot. But the whole thing worked out great, and I felt proud of how little I'd spent.
