(More customer reviews)I've had this TV for over a week now. This is my second HDTV LCD panel but my first in a larger size.
This unit packs a lot into a nice package for a really nice price. If you're looking for something just one notch below premium (i.e. a great set with great value) then buy this set. Don't be thrown by the price; this TV looks great and performs superbly.
720p at this screen size is perfect. 1080p below 42 inches is wasteful feature bloat that you don't need to pay for. High Def channels look phenomenal on this set. XBOX360 over component is terrific. My HD feed is fiber optic. I have not tested over-the-air reception of this unit yet.
Standard Def (regular TV) is very good compared to what I've seen on other sets in stores and at friends' houses. The internal signal up-converter is solid. DVD over component hookups looks very nice.
Display adjustment options are extensive. Some tweaking is needed out-of-the-box but this is very easy to do, and you can look online (AVSForum is great) for help in this arena.
ClearVoice sound (emphasizes dialogue over sound effects & music) is a great option and works well.
The internal speakers are surprisingly decent if that's all you have. They have very little bass, but the mid-range sound is fairly full. We have a small 2.1 speaker system that we will use, but I haven't yet felt compelled to hook it up while we get the sighting and wiring runs finalized.
The biggest problem I had with TV was getting the stand attached. Once I got that sorted out, the rest of setup was a breeze.
I paid more money than this set is listed for here, and I'm still thrilled with my purchase. That should say a lot.

LG 37LH40 37-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Gloss Black Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this television for two weeks. I got it after being greatly disappointed with a Vizio 37 inch 1080p. The difference between the two was very noticeable. The picture and sound are far superior. Even when comparing to the 720p LG 37 inch, this one is much better. The television was very easy to set up. The amount of HDMI, component and AV inputs are more than adequate for any standard home theater set up. I read one review that gave this television low marks for not having a headphone jack. I feel that if you are going to get a television of this caliber, you will get a good receiver that supports headphones. I feel that is an unimportant option and I prefer having that fourth HDMI port. The energy saving option is a nice addition, although if you get a lot of sun, you need to keep that setting low during the day. All menu options are easy to navigate. I love that the television knows what types of connections you have. When scrolling through inputs, it highlights the inputs that have devices connected. Overall, this is a great TV and I highly recommend it.

LG 37LG60 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Piano Black with Scarlet Red Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned the 37LG60 for about 6 weeks now and I am very impressed.
Setup: Out of the box, everything went fairly well and the packaging was good. The directions for attaching the stand are a bit lacking in that there are two different sizes of screws provided and it is up to the user to figure out which ones fit in which holes. The menus for A/V setup are clear and concise for basic set up and there are a plethora of advanced options for those that want to dive in.
Video: The picture is excellent. At the time I'm writing this, there is only one 37" consumer LCD HDTV that supports both 1080p resolutions and 120hz refresh rates. Visually any HD content played on the set is stunning, and even standard definition looks fine for almost everything. Much better than some less expensive sets that I looked at. There are almost never any visible jagged lines on SD content. The color and contrast were a bit off out of the box but that is normal with HD sets and 2 minutes of adjusting fixed it. I didn't even have time to run a calibration DVD or Blu-Ray yet and I'm already very happy. Just a note for those that are planning on purchasing a 1080p TV; at 37", in order to take full advantage of 1080p (be able to see the difference between 720 and 1080) you need to be sitting about 4 feet from the TV. With smaller sets, the difference is less noticeable. If you are looking to save money, getting a 720p TV would not be a bad idea. That being said, I love the way the 37LG60 looks and would recommend it on picture quality alone.
Inputs: The good news is there are tons of inputs. 4 HDMI, 2 Composite, a VGA for use as a computer monitor and more. The bad news is that I use a Panasonic Blu-Ray player and a TiVo HD with the system, both plugged into HDMI ports and most of the time when pausing or fast forwarding/rewinding content from either player, I get a high pitched clicking/static type of noise coming from the speakers. It is very faint, but I can still hear it. Since this is my first HDTV, I wasn't sure if that was a common problem, but after asking around, found nobody else that had ever heard of such a thing. I contacted LG online support and was told, "I am sorry, I have found out that can sometimes happen with digital but unfortunately there are not any adjustments that can be made for that issue." I'm going to try the Composite inputs to see if the problem exists there as well. It is not loud enough to make me return the set, but this is the issue that keeps me from rating a full 5 Stars.
Sound: The only other place where this TV is lacking is the built in speakers, which work fine for day to day use, but if you want to fully enjoy a movie experience, you will want to buy a sound system to replace the onboard speakers.
Visual appeal: The set itself is sturdy and attractive. The "scarlet" back is beautiful and the edges can be seen from almost any angle. The gloss black front and mirror finish base give it a classy look. I prefer matte finishes on TV's, which eliminate glare from other light sources, but this is easily overlooked, as the set is gorgeous.
Support: LG's online support was prompt and friendly but not entirely helpful in dealing with the clicking/static noise I am experiencing.
Overall, I'm giving the set 4 stars and keeping it in my house. I will edit my review once I've had a chance to try Composite cables.

(More customer reviews)I couldn't be happier with the new TV, which I bought 3 weeks ago. I was looking for a good value for my $$$. I looked at TV's at three different Best Buys and couldn't find much difference in picture quality. The same set would look good in one store, bad in another. Probably due to source video and settings. It came down to Panasonic and LG (comparable Sony too expensive, Samsung got to many bad reviews). LG has a swivel stand, Panasonic's is fixed. I liked this feature as the set will be in the corner of my living room. Thankfully my local Best Buy was sold out. When I got home Amazon had it at a better price so I took the plunge. I was nevous about buying a TV thru Amazon but the delivery truck showed up as scheduled and the guys set it up and took the box away. And I wanted to lug one home from Best Buy? I won't do that again.

Peerless SA740P Articulating LCD Wall Mount for 22-40" LCD Screens (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased a 32" flat panel LCD HDTV for our bedroom and wanted to wall mount it to get it off the floor and take advantage of it's thin profile. The problem was finding decent mounting systems at our local "Big Box" electronic stores. Not to mention the high price. After a lengthy Internet search, I settled on this brand and model. We wanted to be able to move our TV to different positions (while still being fixed mounted on the wall) so we could watch it from various points in our bedroom (from the bed, from a sitting area, from the bathroom, etc). Most of the mounts I found on the Internet cost a fortune and did little more than tilt your TV up and down. This Peerless arm does so much more. It swings, swivels, and tilts to virtually any viewing angle you can imagine or need. Plus the mounting plate will fit virtually any LCD or plasma model. I suggest visiting the Peerless web site for specific information regarding compatibility with your TV brand and model.
Prices for this item were all over the board during my Internet research. I would discourage you from shopping at the lowest price sources listed at Amazon.com. I went through the long ordering process with Beach Audio.com only to find out (at the last ordering screen) that their shipping and handling costs were about twice the cost of the arm! What a deceiving rip-off. Instead, I purchased the arm through [...]. This web site has a bounty of useful information about TV and monitor mounting options. I highly recommend a look here for information, even if you don't buy from them.
I received the mount via UPS in about five days (the $9.99 shipping and handling was much more reasonable than other places). I am a "do it yourselfer" and found the installation to be easy. I think if you are even a bit mechanically inclined and have basic tools you won't have much trouble installing the unit. Find a wall stud, mark the location of the arm on the wall, drill two pilot holes into the stud, screw the arm into the wall stud with two large wood screws and screw the TV into the arm's support plate. Even if you mount the arm a bit crooked, you can still level the TV with one of the arm's adjustment screws. I highly recommend having two or more people available to help hold the TV in place while attaching it to the support arm plate.
I am very, very pleased with this articulating arm. It looks great, only sticks out about 3 inches from the wall, it has a neat system for hiding the power cord and cable wires from view, and it can be adjusted effortlessly to an infinite number of viewing angles. I was a bit leery of placing a $1000+ TV investment on a wall mount, but this unit is surprisingly strong. Even though the TV weighs a lot, the arm moves it around with very little effort.
If you are looking for a wall mounted articulating arm with lots of flexibility for TV viewing angles, this is a great, ingenious product.

LG LSW200BG 37-Inch to 47-Inch Slim Mount Bracket Review

(More customer reviews)This was very easy to set up and it works perfectly. I have a 42" LG 5400 the tv is so slim and the mount keeps it very close to the wall. I didn't think I needed a tilting mount but I'm glad I did its a perfect compliment to this tv. The only suggestion is that if you cannot hit the studs with all 8 screws buy some good drywall anchors, the anchors that come with the unit are for masonry walls not drywall.
