(More customer reviews)After researching many tv stands, this one came out right before making my final decision. I actually had planned to buy one similar to this style (but in all silver) for over $400, but when I researched this one it had everything the other one had plus I could get it with tinted shelves instead of clear, AND it was only $200. Construction wise, it was extremely heavy in the box! Glass shelves are 8mm thick (I believe). Their close to the thickness of my A/V rack and they have 10mm shelves. This thing is extremely solid and is compliant with tip-over standards. It uses a heavy metal plate underneath the bottom shelf that attaches to the shaft to ensure the top-heavy portion doesn't tip over, or become unstable in any way! I have a 46" Samsung 8500 mounted and it looks just beautiful. Because of the way the shelves are mounted to the shaft of the stand, they can only accept 10-15 lbs (I believe), but that'll be enough for pictures, flowers, cable boxes etc. All in all, a very high quality product for half of what everyone else is charging!
