(More customer reviews)We just received this product today, and I was able to set it up easily by myself. It looks very nice and isn't very heavy or too big to move around after putting it together. The shelves are a wood painted a shiny black. The poles are made of metal. There is a sort of cable tie that you have to attach yourself at the base of the lower pole and screw into the wall with a provided hook. We're not going to use it. I don't usually give out 5 stars but so far I can't find anything really wrong with this product. If anything changes, I'll make note of that later, but so far it looks very sturdy.
EDIT: One year later and it still works well!

*note: if your TV is 42in or smaller, the mount may stick out a bit underneath it. Ours does, but we are going to mount small speakers there so it wont matter. I suppose depending on your TV and the positioning of the mount attachment, you could get it hidden.

(More customer reviews)It took a long time to get this item when I selected free shipping -- about 2.5 weeks. But it did arrive before the specified arrival date. This is the largest, tallest free-standing TV mount I could find anywhere, with at least nine inches between the two glass shelves. That distance is important for across-the-top air flow if you need fans to cool your components. It does create a commanding presence in the room.
When you get the box on your porch, you will be in for a treat! But, do some preparation first. It can be assembled by one person. Haul it into the house. Now, go get the vaccuum cleaner! Don't even open the box without it at hand. The styrofoam will float. A thousand tiny grains everywhere, so vaccuum everything off as you pull it out. Else, you will find styrofoam bits forever. Initially, the directions are basically simple and extra connectors are provided so you absolutely will be putting this thing together. Every piece is numbered in sequence of assembly so you can't lose anything. If you are vaccuming, you will avoid cleaning up later. Once you have the parts out and identified decide to put the cabinent together in one process because you have to glue it all together, as well as screw it together. Its takes about 2 hours if you are being careful. Make sure you glue carefully and place the connectors precisely and the bottom cabinent construction will be tight and virtually unbreakable. There was one mis-aligned hole punched in the metal brackets for connection of the bottom of the cabinent to the frame, but this was not a problem because three out of four was quite tight enough. Putting the drawer together is important -- do it carefully -- the first time I tried to push it in I thought I had reversed the sides. But it needed a bit of force and works fine.
I put a 54 inch 85 lb TV on this stand with a 65 lb receiver on the bottom shelf and a mostly self-supported 105 lb amplifier on the other side of the bottom shelf... I think there may be between 70-90 lbs altogether on the bottom shelf. I didn't want to test it past that! I was already exceptionally pleased that it was so sturdy. Don't overload the glass shelves. I have the center channel on top (10 lbs) and the BDP and cable box on the second. The wire guides are in helpful positions and I did use one for the seven-channel analogue crossover cables to the amp. The others are for power cords, HDMI cables, and speaker cables. It does work, and it is very functional.
If there is a better mount for an audiophile set-up, I can't find it. Careful assembly is the key. Enjoy!

(More customer reviews)I normally don't write reviews that often but I am very excited about this TV stand I had to share (since there are no other reviews). We have hardwood floors throughout our house, and before getting this stand we had some silver colored cheap stand from IKEA. It certainly lasted long enough, but my wife and I are trying to slowly move out of the college dorm room look... This stand offers a perfect transition from the hardwood floors up to the modern design of the flat panel TV.
This is definitely a very high quality item and at a very reasonable price. My only complaint at first was the cost of shipping. But once I received the shipment I realized why as it weighs around 200 lbs. The wood is dense and seems like it can withstand some abuse over the years, and has a nice mahogany finish. The glass shelves are thick and I didn't have any hesitation putting somewhat heavy A/V equipment on it. The metal frame is solid and you can probably land a helicopter on it.
As far as space goes there is plenty. I was able to comfortably fit: A 5 disk DVD/Stereo receiver, An old VCR (never know, might come in handy someday :), and Xbox 360, a standard size comcast cable receiver, a PS3, and a Wii... And there is still plenty of space in between them so it does not look cluttered. The two drawers at the bottom are large and offer a ton of room for game controllers for all three systems, chargers, remotes, and some other random stuff, with room left over.
What ended up being a selling point for me originally is the 3-in-1 mounting option. My original plan was to mount the TV to the provided post (as pictured) then use the included wall mount later on once we get the walls painted. But once I set the TV up on the post I really loved the way it looked. All of the A/V cables can be fed through the center of the post so they are hidden. Now, the only cables you can see in the back are the power cables.
One other reason I think I might just stick to the post mount is because of the pivot mount... The mount works great on the post and allows the TV to pivot left and right. However, I feel like if it was mounted to the wall it might look a little awkward because it would be sicking out far from the wall do to the space needed for the pivot. So if you are wanted to get that picture frame look that is flush against the wall you should probably look into getting a separate wall mount.

different box labeled Home Trends, the glass shelves are clear / not black but everything else is the same.
The instructions are labeled Z-line - yep, it's the real thing. All the other positive things said in other
reviews are true. BTW - it handled my new 65 inch Sharp LCD just fine. Only assembly problem was "bottom pad"
screw holes - needed to run a drill bit through as the screw holes didn't exactly line up. That's my story
and I'm stickin to it.

(More customer reviews)Setup is easy and it's very sturdy. the mount is a vesa compliant so it should fit most tvs. The vertical bracket is very solid and heavy. It looks really modern and nice.
Please note that the bracket fits inside the cabinet thus the 15 1/2 depth is further reduced by around 3 inches. The overall depth is only around 12 so be sure to check your electronics if it fits.
The biggest drawback is you need to put a safety cable which requires putting a hole in your wall. the reason for this is the cabinet is too narrow and the TV is too tall that it has a tendency to fall over.

(More customer reviews)I will start off by saying this thing was packaged excellent and shipped very quickly! Everything was very tight and the interior boards were packed facing out towards the edges of the box, so even though the delivery guy put a gouge in the box, it didn't scratch anything that you would see once it was put together. (My scratch ended up not being deep enough to scratch the wood anyways, but it was reassuring to know that if it had gone deep, it wouldn't have mattered.) Also note that the actual glass on the doors was perfect and packed so tight that I don't think ANY delivery guy could break them.
Called Bush Industries twice. They have very convenient customer service hours that include early evenings and Saturdays. I called first because the wood on one glass door was cracked and made it quite weak where it attached to the glass. The other door had wood glue showing along the glass joint. They agreed to ship me those two doors immediately with no problem...and then I asked for a paint stick. They not only offered a paint stick AND furniture crayon BUT first they said I didn't have to keep the defective part and that they would gladly send me a replacement part! Since it was only two edge/corners on the base of the unit (They were small & totaled less than 2 inches long, combined) and I have young boys in the home who might cause future scratches, I figured it would be best to get the crayon & paint to fix them myself. All these items arrived just a couple days later with great packaging.
Fast forward almost 2 weeks to when I finally got around to calling them about a few broken non-wood parts. I was worried that it had been so long since I called them that they might not want to send me a second shipment. The things that broke during assembly were the cam bolts, cam nuts, and the little nails for the back cardboard that you unfold to cover the back. I initially nailed the cover on crooked (thankfully only used about 4 nails) and I had to try to pry the nails out and it didn't work well. Surprisingly, this was very hard and the most annoying part of the whole project. Anyways, by leaving one piece off, and not completely nailing on the back cover, I was able to set this thing up and forget about it for a couple weeks which is why I kept forgetting to call them. This call was just as smooth as the first, though, and a few days later I had my parts.
On to the product. Particle board construction obviously. Not all the cam nuts could be tightened completely; I'm assuming that is because I must have screwed in the cam bolts at a slight angle. That being said, they were very touchy because I tried to be very careful with them. (The unit does still seem solid enough even with only half tight cam locks on about ½ of the unit) Also, one cam bolt busted and several locking cam nuts broke because of this problem, but all were replaced and now I have extras. The base is not conducive to sliding along carpet, so get it where you want it and leave it alone. I really do hate moving it, it worries me because you build the base out of four 1/2" x 2" boards that are screwed together then screwed to the flat base panel. If you let it alone and don't move furniture often it looks like it will hold up just fine. I should note that I did not set a TV on top of it, so I can't attest to its weight bearing ability.
Two issues I have with the description. I would not describe the back panel as "solid." It is your typical heavy cardboard type material with two long vertical 1.5 inch wide cut outs (for wire management) which are fine for me. Also, the bottom bay (lower shelf) is not adjustable. One height better fit all. Speaking of height, see the notes in the picture above for shelf measurements.

(More customer reviews)There were several parts that didn't fit together very well. When bolting the frame together, a hole in one part didn't match the corresponding hole in the mating part. The bracket that holds the TV was out of square significantly. I had to use a 4 foot long piece of pipe to bend it into square. Another bracket that consists of welded parts had two parts welded at different elevations, which put the TV slightly out of level. I'm still working on that problem.
One glass shelf has a small scratch in the black finish. When something ships from China, that shouldn't be unexpected. The scratch is barely noticable, but it was a bummer when I saw it.
Once I finished assembling it, I have to admit it looks nice and works nice. Too bad they couldn't build it so it fit together right.

This literally took me 7 minutes to put together and I would say it took longer to open the box and take out all the parts than it did to assemble it. Even with the quick and easy assembly, this appears to be solid and sturdy and I am not concerned about the weight of the TV being an issue at all. The fact that this is a swivel stand is just an added bonus for us, as we didn't need it but it could come in handy should we decide to use this in another room.
